๐Ÿ”ŠAudio ain't dead: Listeners 3x more likely to consume in cars vs computers

Hi, Reader.

Welcome to Podcasting in Professional Services. Each week, you'll get podcasting research, trends, and examples. Let's dive in ๐Ÿ‘‡

Video is important for podcasting, but NOT at the expense of the audio experience

In our 2026 State of Podcasting in Professional Services research study, active listeners of business podcasts reported being 3x more likely to tune in while driving vs at a computer.

Think about that for a minute. I can't tell you how many times I see and hear from podcasting experts about how VIDEO IS SO IMPORTANT.

Let's be real: video is an accelerant. Not a podcasting necessity.

Video might get people to tune into their first episode. But after that? The magic happens OUTSIDE the 9-5:

...while driving a car
...while walking the dog
...while mowing the lawn

So go ahead; cut those short clips. Upgrade your camera and studio lighting. Add lower thirds and scene transitions.

Ok. Now let's get into some recent examples from the Red Cedar Marketing portfolio:

Crazy Stupid Rebrands (and How to Avoid Catastrophe)

Austin, Joe, and MB break down the most common rebranding mistakes firms make. Filled with rom-com references and framed as a fast-paced card game inspired by 'Apples to Apples,' this episode explores how rebrands can either spark a new era of growthโ€”or spiral into confusion.

What Other Industries Know About Growth (That You're Missing)

Professional services firms love to say, โ€œOur industry is different.โ€ But what if that belief is exactly whatโ€™s holding you back?

In this episode of Breaking BizDev, John and Mark challenge the echo chamber thinking that keeps firms stuck. They break down what fast-growing firms in AEC, accounting, agencies, and wealth management are doing differentlyโ€”and what you might be missing.

Scaling Without Chaos: How AI Is Changing the Game for Small Businesses

In this episode of The Scalability Code, Matt Haney sits down with Tara Kinney, founder of Atomic Revenue, to unpack what it really takes to scale a business in todayโ€™s AI-driven world.

In case you missed it...
