In-Studio Recordings: A Higher Quality Podcasting Alternative

Podcasts can be fairy straightforward to produce when all participants are remote. But when podcast hosts and guests start to get together in the same room to have a conversation, it adds a new level of complexity.

Recently, I caught up with Austin, Joe, and MB from Hinge at the Richmond Podcast Studio in Richmond, VA, to record an in-studio episode revealing new insights from Hinge's brand new 2026 High Growth Study.

I was impressed with their setup and how effectively they used the space. We customized the backdrop to reflect the main purple color for the show, and there's even a branded hat on the shelf behind Austin's head. Studio lighting brought the stage to life, and three main camera angles captured the conversation in 4K resolution.

This recording setup produced a high-quality result. It did come with some challenges. Primarily dealing with enormous file sizes πŸ˜… but the final product was worth it.
