Is podcasting slowing down?
Or just heating up? πŸ”₯

Recently, I posed this question on LinkedIn and got some good feedback. Feel free to jump into the conversation!

I was curious about the broader podcasting market, so when looking at podcast stats from Listen Notes, I noticed a small, positive trend.

First, the COVID boom in '20 and '21 set the stage. These years saw a major influx of new podcasts to the airwaves, but that dropped sharply in 2022.

Here's the breakdown:

  • 2022 New Shows: 252,850
  • 2023 New Shows: 236,866
  • 2024 New Shows: 198,943

But that's when I saw it...in 2025, the total number of new shows entering the market was 2.8% higher than 2024; the first positive year-over-year trend since 2020.

The report goes on to show 'business' podcasts as the 3rd most popular genre. This is up from 4th just a year ago.

For the first time in five years, we have positive growth of new shows entering the market, and the popularity of business podcasts is increasing.

The combination of these two things tells me that the podcast market is resilient, growing, and that business shows have staying power.

New Shows Coming Soon...

Speaking of new shows entering the market, here are two more shows to add to the airwaves in 2026. These shows are in the pre-launch phase and should launch in the next month or so.

I'm sharing these with you in case you might find the artwork or positioning to be inspiring. Or, maybe you might even like to tune in once they go live!

Building on the lake isn’t just a construction project β€” it’s a lifestyle decision.
